Feliz Cinco de Mayo, one of our favorite and most under celebrated holidays
One of the best perks of this life we lead on the road is getting to meet and work with other great bands. Sometimes you’ve curated the evening and brought in other acts that you already know and love, but oftentimes you’re at the mercy of the presenter. When that presenter has a good head on their shoulders and their ears to the ground, there’s nothing better than hearing a great band for the first time live and up close. Well we’re on a bit of a hot streak at the moment.
At the Common Ground Coffeehouse in the Hudson Valley we shared the stage with excellent Driftwood, a super high energy string band out of the Binghamton area.(sneak peek – we’ll be billing with them in Washington DC on Jun 12). Next up was the lovey Sweetbriar Rose in Philly at a show sponsored by the Philadelphia Folksong Society (with the obligatory late night stop at Pat’s King of Steaks to fuel up for the late night drive). And finally, we returned to our most favorite and vastly underappreciated music hotspot – Lancaster, PA. We took the stage at the beautiful Tellus 360 after Nasville’s own Woody Pines. Great buncha guys with a killer country blues sound, and a good looking van to boot.
Now we’re off to Virginia for a some writing, rehearsing, performing, and some big surprises…
